Part of our guide to physical shares and demat

KFin Technologies, better known as KFintech and formerly Karvy Fintech, is registrar and transfer agent to a large number of listed companies. Reliance Industries and Hindustan Unilever are two. If your old certificates are from one of its clients, this is where your requests go.

Check that KFintech is your company's registrar

Confirm on the company's investor page or latest annual report. How to find a company's registrar.

Contact details

  • Address: KFin Technologies Limited, Selenium Tower-B, Plot No. 31 & 32, Financial District, Nanakramguda, Serilingampally Mandal, Hyderabad 500032
  • Toll-free: 1800 309 4001
  • Email for service requests: einward.ris@kfintech.com
  • Online service requests and tracking: ris.kfintech.com/clientservices/isc/

Some client companies have a dedicated KFintech email address for their shareholders. Reliance Industries, for example, lists rilinvestor@kfintech.com. Use it if your company publishes one.

Submitting a request

  • Online: raise a service request through KFintech's investor service portal and upload the forms. Many requests can be signed electronically.
  • By post or courier: send the signed forms and supporting documents to the Hyderabad address. Anything that needs original share certificates must go physically.

Use the SEBI standard forms: ISR-1 for KYC, ISR-2 for signature confirmation, ISR-4 for duplicates and other service requests; transmission now uses the forms in SEBI's July 2026 framework. ISR forms explained.

Tracking

Keep the reference number KFintech issues and use it to check status on the portal. Quote it in every email.

If KFintech raises an objection

You'll get a memo listing what's missing or doesn't match. Reply to every point at once. The usual ones are signature mismatches (answer with ISR-2), name variations (an affidavit with supporting documents), and a Client Master List that's over two months old. Common objections and fixes.

IEPF entitlement letters

For client companies, KFintech issues the entitlement letter that confirms what was transferred to IEPF from a folio. About entitlement letters.

Escalating

  • 1.: Use the escalation option on KFintech's portal, or write to escalationcr@kfintech.com with your reference number
  • 2.: Write to the company's compliance officer
  • 3.: File a complaint on SEBI's SCORES portal, where the entity has 21 calendar days to resolve it
  • 4.: If unresolved, SEBI's Smart ODR platform for conciliation and arbitration
