Share Recovery Agent in Lucknow

Lucknow holds an unusually high concentration of dormant share folios, because a capital city concentrates exactly the households that subscribed to public issues and then never touched them again. We recover those holdings for families across the district.

The work runs remotely — documents by courier, identity verified over video — and nothing is charged before the shares reach your account.

Serving Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh · Lucknow district from our Gurugram officeReviewed 25 September 2026

A capital city’s salaried shareholding

State government service, public sector banks, insurance offices and the institutions that cluster around a capital gave Lucknow a very large, stable, pensionable workforce through the 1980s and 1990s. That group subscribed to the public issues of the period in small, repeated amounts — a few hundred shares at a time, applied for on paper at a bank counter on Hazratganj, and then filed away.

The characteristic Lucknow holding is therefore not one large position but eight or ten small ones across different companies, each with its own registrar. Families are often unaware of most of them, because no single certificate looked significant enough to mention.

The second pattern is the old trading and landholding families of the city, whose investments were larger and frequently made in the names of several relatives at once. Those are the folios that produce two-generation claims, where the certificate is in a grandfather’s name and the father has also died.

What Uttar Pradesh families need to produce

In Uttar Pradesh a legal heir certificate is issued by the Tehsildar, applied for through the state e-District portal, after the Lekhpal verifies the family details locally. Succession certificate petitions go to the district court where the deceased ordinarily lived.

In many cases no such certificate is needed. SEBI’s simplified transmission route covers holdings up to ₹10 lakh per company in physical form and ₹30 lakh in demat, on a notarised indemnity bond and an affidavit-cum-NOC from the other legal heirs.

  • Death certificate, SEBI’s transmission request form (Annexure-3) and the claimant’s KYC documents
  • Notarised indemnity bond and affidavit-cum-NOC from the other legal heirs
  • A Tehsildar’s legal heir certificate through the e-District portal, or a succession certificate, only above SEBI’s limits
  • A demat account in the claimant’s name, with a Client Master List under two months old

What we handle for clients in Lucknow

How a Lucknow claim actually runs

Five stages, the same wherever you are. Nothing here needs you to travel, and nothing is billed until the last one.

  1. 1

    Free assessment

You send whatever you have — a certificate, a folio number, a name, sometimes only a company. We tell you what exists and what it is likely worth before you commit to anything.

  2. 2

    Tracing and confirmation

We search the IEPF records and write to the registrar to confirm the holding, the corporate actions applied to it since, and who it currently stands in the name of.

  3. 3

    Documents assembled

Death certificate, heirship evidence, indemnity bond, NOCs, KYC and the demat account details — prepared in the order the registrar and the company will want them.

  4. 4

    Filing and follow-up

Form IEPF-5, the transmission request or the duplicate issue is filed, and we chase the company Nodal Officer and the Authority until the verification report moves.

  5. 5

    Shares credited

The securities are credited directly to your own demat account. Our fee becomes payable at this point, and not before.

The process in full

Zero advance fee — what Lucknow clients pay, and when

We charge no advance professional fee. Our fee is a percentage agreed with you before we start, payable only once the shares or dividends have reached your own demat or bank account. If nothing is recovered, you owe us no professional fee at all.

  • Nothing to pay for the assessment, and nothing while the claim is running
  • The percentage is fixed in writing before any work starts — it does not move later
  • Statutory and third-party costs — stamp duty, notary, court fees, newspaper notices — are paid by you at actuals, with receipts
  • Shares are credited to your account, never to ours; we never take custody of your securities

Anyone who asks you for money before a claim has been assessed is worth walking away from. Read the full fee policy.

Questions from Lucknow

Do you have an office in Lucknow?

No. Our office is in Gurugram and we serve Lucknow remotely — documents by courier, identity verified over video, shares credited to your own demat account. We do not claim branches we do not have.

My father was a state government pensioner. Where would his shares be?

Start with his bank statements and tax records rather than the house. Dividend credits name the paying companies, and the Annual Information Statement lists dividend income by deductor. From a company name we can ask its registrar to confirm the folio. Pensioner households in Lucknow very often hold more companies than the family expects.

The folio has an old Lucknow address in a house we sold.

That does not weaken your claim. Form ISR-1 updates the address against current KYC, and the old address is actually useful evidence that the folio belonged to your family.

Do you cover the smaller towns and villages in Lucknow district?

Yes — Malihabad, Mohanlalganj, Bakshi Ka Talab, Gosainganj, Itaunja and the villages around them are handled in exactly the same way, and at the same cost. Because the work runs by courier and video, being outside the district headquarters changes nothing about the claim or the fee.

Could I do this myself?

Yes. The IEPF Authority’s records can be searched free and Form IEPF-5 can be filed by anyone on the MCA portal at no cost. We charge for assembling the documentation, handling registrar and company verification and following it through — not for access to something that is public.

What will it cost, and when?

Nothing in advance. A percentage agreed with you in writing before we start becomes payable only after the shares reach your own demat account. Statutory costs — stamp duty, notary, court fees, newspaper notices — are paid by you at actuals, with receipts.
