Share Recovery Agent in Vasant Kunj, Delhi

Vasant Kunj households often hold shares bought while posted elsewhere, or inherited from parents in another city — and the folio has not caught up with either move.

We locate the holdings, update or transmit them, and deal with the registrars and the IEPF Authority. Everything runs by courier and video verification from our Gurugram office. The first assessment is free.

Transfers, postings and folios left behind

Vasant Kunj was built largely for government, service and professional families, many of whom moved between cities and countries during their careers. Shares bought in one posting kept the address of that posting, and the annual reports and dividend warrants followed the family nowhere.

Added to that is the number of households with children settled abroad. When the shareholder dies, the claimant is often an NRI, and the documents have to be signed, notarised and authenticated overseas before an Indian registrar will accept them.

What Delhi claimants need, resident or not

Where a state certificate is required, Delhi issues a Surviving Member Certificate through the SDM, applied for on the e-District portal and delivered digitally. For most share claims within SEBI’s value limits, an indemnity bond and the other heirs’ affidavit-cum-NOC are enough on their own.

If you are claiming from abroad, allow time for authentication: documents signed in an Apostille Convention country need notarisation and an apostille, and those signed in the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait need attestation ending at the Indian mission.

  • Form ISR-1 to correct PAN, address and bank details on a folio that has gone stale
  • Form ISR-5, the death certificate and heirs’ documents for a transmission
  • Apostille or consular attestation for anything signed outside India
  • A demat account in the claimant’s name — an NRO-linked account for most NRI claimants

Questions from Vasant Kunj

The shares were bought when my parents were posted in another state. Does that matter?

Not for the claim itself — the company’s registrar handles it wherever you are. It matters only if a state-issued certificate is needed, which comes from the state where the shareholder lived.

I am an NRI and the other heirs are in Delhi. How do we do this?

The heirs in India sign and notarise their affidavits locally; you sign yours where you live and have it apostilled or attested at the Indian mission. Everything is then sent to the registrar together.

Can you find out which companies my father held shares in?

We search the IEPF records and follow up with registrars on the folios and companies you can identify. Old dividend warrants, annual reports and bank statements are the most useful starting points.

How long does an IEPF claim take?

The rules give the company 30 days to verify a claim and the IEPF Authority 60 days after that to dispose of it. In practice it commonly runs longer, and the delay is usually at the company verification stage.

Is there any upfront cost?

No advance professional fee and no charge for the assessment. We charge an agreed percentage after the shares are credited; statutory costs such as notary and attestation charges are paid by you at actuals.
