Share Recovery Agent in Varanasi

Varanasi combines an old mercantile economy with a large institutional and railway workforce, and both left share certificates that families later lost track of. We recover them.

Everything is handled remotely, with no advance professional fee.

Serving Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh · Varanasi district from our Gurugram officeReviewed 25 September 2026

Silk money, railway workshops and a university town

The Banarasi silk trade produced generations of merchant families who held wealth in gold, property and — from the 1980s — equity. Those purchases were typically made through a broker in Kolkata or Kanpur and registered in the name of the head of the family, which is precisely the arrangement that becomes complicated two deaths later.

The railway workshops at Varanasi and the university and hospital establishments added a very different group: a large, long-tenure salaried workforce with reserved allotments, bonus entitlements and modest public issue holdings, generally opened against a quarters or colony address.

Varanasi also sends significant numbers abroad, particularly to the Gulf, which means the heirs to a Varanasi folio are frequently not in India. That changes the attestation route and the type of demat account, not the right to claim.

What Uttar Pradesh families need to produce

In Uttar Pradesh a legal heir certificate is issued by the Tehsildar, applied for through the state e-District portal, after the Lekhpal verifies the family details locally. Succession certificate petitions go to the district court where the deceased ordinarily lived.

In many cases no such certificate is needed. SEBI’s simplified transmission route covers holdings up to ₹10 lakh per company in physical form and ₹30 lakh in demat, on a notarised indemnity bond and an affidavit-cum-NOC from the other legal heirs.

  • Death certificate, SEBI’s transmission request form (Annexure-3) and the claimant’s KYC documents
  • Notarised indemnity bond and affidavit-cum-NOC from the other legal heirs
  • A Tehsildar’s legal heir certificate through the e-District portal, or a succession certificate, only above SEBI’s limits
  • A demat account in the claimant’s name, with a Client Master List under two months old

What we handle for clients in Varanasi

How a Varanasi claim actually runs

Five stages, the same wherever you are. Nothing here needs you to travel, and nothing is billed until the last one.

  1. 1

    Free assessment

You send whatever you have — a certificate, a folio number, a name, sometimes only a company. We tell you what exists and what it is likely worth before you commit to anything.

  2. 2

    Tracing and confirmation

We search the IEPF records and write to the registrar to confirm the holding, the corporate actions applied to it since, and who it currently stands in the name of.

  3. 3

    Documents assembled

Death certificate, heirship evidence, indemnity bond, NOCs, KYC and the demat account details — prepared in the order the registrar and the company will want them.

  4. 4

    Filing and follow-up

Form IEPF-5, the transmission request or the duplicate issue is filed, and we chase the company Nodal Officer and the Authority until the verification report moves.

  5. 5

    Shares credited

The securities are credited directly to your own demat account. Our fee becomes payable at this point, and not before.

The process in full

Zero advance fee — what Varanasi clients pay, and when

We charge no advance professional fee. Our fee is a percentage agreed with you before we start, payable only once the shares or dividends have reached your own demat or bank account. If nothing is recovered, you owe us no professional fee at all.

  • Nothing to pay for the assessment, and nothing while the claim is running
  • The percentage is fixed in writing before any work starts — it does not move later
  • Statutory and third-party costs — stamp duty, notary, court fees, newspaper notices — are paid by you at actuals, with receipts
  • Shares are credited to your account, never to ours; we never take custody of your securities

Anyone who asks you for money before a claim has been assessed is worth walking away from. Read the full fee policy.

Questions from Varanasi

Do you have an office in Varanasi?

No. Our office is in Gurugram and we serve Varanasi remotely — documents by courier, identity verified over video, shares credited to your own demat account. We do not claim branches we do not have.

Shares were bought in the name of my grandfather for the whole family business.

Legally the shares form part of the registered holder’s estate and pass to his heirs under the succession law that applied to him, regardless of whose money bought them. Where the family agrees, the other heirs sign an affidavit-cum-NOC in favour of one claimant. Where it does not, take legal advice before filing anything.

One of the heirs lives in the Gulf.

That is routine. Documents signed in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar are attested through the Indian consulate rather than apostilled, and the process is otherwise unchanged. Nobody has to travel to India.

Do you cover the smaller towns and villages in Varanasi district?

Yes — Ramnagar, Pindra, Cholapur, Rajatalab, Baragaon and the villages around them are handled in exactly the same way, and at the same cost. Because the work runs by courier and video, being outside the district headquarters changes nothing about the claim or the fee.

Could I do this myself?

Yes. The IEPF Authority’s records can be searched free and Form IEPF-5 can be filed by anyone on the MCA portal at no cost. We charge for assembling the documentation, handling registrar and company verification and following it through — not for access to something that is public.

What will it cost, and when?

Nothing in advance. A percentage agreed with you in writing before we start becomes payable only after the shares reach your own demat account. Statutory costs — stamp duty, notary, court fees, newspaper notices — are paid by you at actuals, with receipts.
